As we continue to help educate consumers on the dangers of buying wigs online, we want to share a quick read by one of our trusted vendors, Follea:
We all expect to get what we pay for — especially when it comes to luxury items. We know that Follea represents the pinnacle in luxury European hair wigs and topettes. When you buy a Follea, you are not just making a purchase, you are making an investment. But how do you know you are getting the real thing?
One of the ways that we ensure that you are not getting a counterfeit Follea is through our advanced product registration system. This system allows a customer to verify that they have purchased an authentic Follea and not some inferior knock-off. Our proprietary registration system allows us to determine who the wig was sold to, when it was manufactured, right down to the day it was made. We can even tell at a glance if the individual piece was ever altered or repaired by our factory.
Counterfeit wigs are made by unscrupulous manufacturers that try to make a living by taking a Follea and attempting to copy it. Invariably they use inferior materials and utilize hair that does not even come close to meeting our high standards. Like a knock-off Louis Vuitton handbag or a fake Rolex watch, the substandard workmanship in these Follea fakes quickly becomes apparent with daily use. Sometimes the hair is coated with layers and layers of silicone to try and give the impression of shine and movement, but when washed two or three times this temporary finish washes away leaving behind dull mediocre hair.
If you suspect that someone is attempting to sell you a Follea wig or topette and you have any doubt whatsoever, feel free to contact our customer relations department so that we can verify the authenticity.
